Our Roots
The McPherson Senior Center is a non-profit 501c3 which was was established in 1979. Our mission is to provide services to help maintain and enhance the lives of our McPherson City elderly community. It is the Center's goal to be a focal point of information and recourses for our older citizens and their families.


ACTIVITIES
Making a Difference

Free Root beer Float Thursday (Free 1pm to 3 pm sponsored by our generous Pool Players) Every Thursday
Aerobics Every Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays start at 8:30 end about 9:30 am. Cost is $5.00 per month.
Pool practices every afternoon
Bingo is every Tuesday and Friday at 1 pm. We welcome any donated white elephant prizes! Play for free!
Color your Cares away adult coloring each Thursday 1 to 3.
Starting Yahtzee also on Thursday afternoons 1 pm.
Craft club meets 3RD Friday of each month. Project/cost to be determined but is usually around $5.
Cards: 10-point pitch, Phase 10 are now ongoing. Times vary.
Dominos (Mexican Train) have groups Friday 12:00.
Friendship meals are served promptly 11:30 AM Mon thru Fri
First Friday Book Club meets 9 am once a month. Call with questions. They are looking for new members.
Board meetings are 3rd Wednesday each month

The McPherson Senior Center is a non-profit 501c(3) organization located at 112 E. Euclid McPherson, Kansas.
We serve the senior population of 55 years of age and older in a various ways. We offer Public General Transportation with door to door service.
We partner with Friendship meals in our facility. Meals are available Monday thru Friday only $3.00. Dine in and Carry out. Delivery is also available for those unable to get out.
The McPherson Senior Center is also used as a rental space for wedding receptions, birthday and anniversary parties, group meetings, etc. options, and a conference room for smaller groups. Wi-Fi internet is available.

GENERAL PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
Daily public transportation is provided for the general public for $1.00 per way. We offer assistance as well as a chair lift suited for transporting elderly and handicapped persons. We will gladly pick you up at your door for dr. appts, work, or better to come down to the Center.

Our friendly dispatchers will schedule your ride. This service is available 8:00 am to 3:30 pm

CLASSES AND ACTIVITIES
The Center offers recreational facilities and equipment including cards, dominoes, pool tables and different games.
You are invited to use these facilities on a daily basis. We have Aerobics class 3x a week that is well attended.
We also host the Seniors Mid Kansas Pool League that runs from fall to spring. We also have various tournaments and game days planned.
Our quilting group meets twice a month.
A variety of books, puzzles and magazines are also available in our reading center to enjoy here or take home.

FRIENDSHIP MEALS
Friendship Meals are funded and administered by Aging Projects, Inc. which provides nutritious meals Monday thru Friday at 11:30 pm. Persons 60 years and older are eligible to dine in at a suggested price of $3.00. Please call our kitchen at 620.241.0160 a day in advance if you plan on joining us. Guests and visitors are always welcome. Menus are published each month in our newsletter. Meal delivery for those housebound that meet federal guidelines is available.
